SHALIGROUT GP

GENERAL PURPOSE HIGH STRENGTH NON SHRINK CEMENTITIOUS GROUT

DESCREPTION
Shaligrout GP is Portland cement based, graded fillers a chemical additives  which import controlled expansion in the plastic state whilst minimizing water demand.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES
  1. Physical State : Free flow grey powder
  2. W/P Ratio by weight : 0.17 (flowable)

  4. Compressive strength : 20 Mpa at 1 day
  5. (ASTM C 109 70 mm cube) : 30 Mpa at 3 days, 40 Mpa at 7 days, 60 Mpa at 28 days

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface preparation: All areas to be grouted must be cleaned and free of oil, grease, dirt and contaminants. Remove all loose materials. Concrete must be fully cured for a minimum of 28 days.All concrete to come in contact with the grout must be thoroughly saturated with clean water for a minimum of 12 hrs before placement of grout. Remove excess water from holes and voids just before grout placement.

FORMWORK
Design and erect a formwork to the geometry of the space to be grouted. Ensure that the formwork is grout tight, strong and well braced to with stand the fluid pressure of the grout until it sets. The formwork should be designed such as to leave a minimum gap of 100 mm at the pouring end, 50 mm at the opposite end and the minimum possible at the sides. Incorporate a pouring hopper at the pouring side of at least 300mm height to provide adequate grout head. Before erecting, coat the inner surface of forms with a suitable release agent for easy release. Seal all gaps in formwork and those between formwork and concrete surface with a suitable joint sealant or with shaligrout GP mixed to a stiff consistency.

MIXING
Shaligrout GP is ready to use and require only the addition of water. Use the minimum water required to achieve the desired placement consistency to approximately the following amounts.
  • Pourable : 4.125 litre/ 25 kg bag
  • Flowable : 4.500 litre/ 25 kg bag of grout
The water requirement may vary with mixing efficiency temperature and other variables. It is advisable to carry out a trial mix to access any adjustment necessary in the water demand before commencing large-scale application

PLACING
Placing should be without interruption until completion. Place the mixed grout in to the pouring hopper of the formwork within 15 min after mixing. Place from one side only. Shaligrout GP should be laid a minimum thickness of 25 mm and to a maximum depth of 100 mm. For grouting beyond 100 mm in depth, extend shaligrout GP with upto 25 kg of 5-12 mm sized, washed, saturated surface-dry (SSD) graded low absorption, high density aggregates.

CURING
Cure the exposed grout shoulders as soon as the grout reaches touch hard state, for 2-3 days by water pounding and then with a uniform coat of shalicure

CLEANING
Clean tools and equipment with water before the grout hardens

COVERAGE
Each bag of 25 kg of mixing with 4-500l of water flowable yields 14L eg approximately 72 X25 kg bags /m3. When extended with 12.5 kg of aggregate (SG :2.6) per kg of shaligrout GP the yield will be 18.5L and with 25 kg of aggregate, the yield will be 23L

PACKING
Shaligrout GP is supplied in 25kg moisture resistant bags.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
Shaligrout GP has a shelf life of 6 months if kept in a dry store in sealed bags if stored in high temperature and high humidity location. The shelf life may be reduced.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Shaligrout GP is not a fire or health hazard, spillage should be washed down immediately with cold water. In case of contact eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
