SHALICON- 37RD

RETARDING CONCRETE ADMIXTURE

DESCRIPTION
Shalicon-37RD is a dark brown liquid admixture for concrete based on Hydroxylated polymers. It is supplied as a brown solution, which instantly disperses in water.

USES

• Retards setting time extends workability
• Prevents cold joints where delays of 2Hrs or more may occur between.
  

ADVANTAGES

• Off set accelerating effect of high ambient temperature and to maintain the workability of the concrete during placing.
• There by eliminating form deflecting cracks.
• Extension of the set time is particularly valuable to prevent cracking of concrete beams, silos and bridge decks.
• Keep the concrete workable long enough so that succeeding pours can be placed without development of cold joints or discontinuities in the structural unit.

DOSAGES
The actual amount requirement to achieve a particular result will vary with the type of cement, the size, shape and grading of aggregate and the total mix design for retarding concrete. The dosage range is from 0.3-1.0% by weight of cementitious material.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Where the main requirement is retarded concrete for large pours & retards setting time extend workability initial trial should be made with normal concrete mix designs. The addition of the admixture after initial trial, minor modification to the overall mix design may be made to optimize performance.

COMPTIBILITY
Shalicon-37RD can be used with all type of Portland cement, sulphate resisting cements, fly ash and microsilica.

PACKAGING
Shalicon-37 RD is available in bulk or 250 kg net. Wt. Drums.

DISPENSING
The measured quantity of Shalicon-37RD should be added along with gauging water in the case of batching plants.Correct dosage should be used with about 18-20% of the total water in the last phase after the mix.

STORANGE & SHELF LIFE
Shalicon-37RD has shelf life of one year from the date of manufacture in unopened original packing, protected from extremes of heat & cold, and stored under shade.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Shalicon-37RD is not a fire or health hazard spillage should be washed down immediately with cold water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
