MODIFIED LIQUID ALKALI-FREE ACCELERATORDESCRIPTIONShaliset LAF is a quick setting alkali free set accelerator available in liquid form used for sprayed cementitious work, concrete work where fast setting is required but no loss of strength due to early setting is expectedUSESShaliset- LAF is used for sprayed concrete and mortar in galleries, tunnels, retaining walls, cementitious pipes, tank lining etc cement mortar admixed with Shaliset-LAF sets rapidly where quick placing of wet mortar is required. The application areas are as follows:
- When the thickness of concrete is very large and quick setting is required
- To be applied when concrete or sprayed concrete in slopes and overhead spraying.
- In poor ground conditions
- In tunnels for shotcreting for temporary and permanent rock support.
ADVANTAGES
- Shaliset- LAF is completely free from active caustic alkalis like free sodium or potassium ions, therefore does not encourage alkali aggregate reaction and alkali lime reaction in the concrete. Hence enhancing soundness of the concrete.
- Speed up the work and contributes to good water tightness of the sprayed concrete lining.
- Improves overhead spray and reduces rebound due to increased adhesion property on rock surface.
- Free from chlorides- does not affect steel bars.
- Develops high early strength.

DOSAGESShaliset- LAF dosage varies from 1.0 to 12% by wt. of cement or cementitious material. Dosage may vary with cement quality and brands, pozzolana content and permissible fly ash content. For shotcreting and sprayed concrete, the compatibility with water reducing admixture to be verified. We recommended ASTM C-494 Type admixture Shalicon-37 (Normal type) as WRA.PACKAGINGShaliset LAF is available in 50kg cans and 250kg nett wt. drum.STORAGE & SHEL LIFEIt stored in un damaged and sealed containers in dry condition at normal ambient temperatures a shelf life of 6 months from the date of manufacture in unopened original packing.SAFETY PRECAUTIONSShaliset LAF is not a fire or health hazard spillage should be washed down immediately with cold water. In case of contact eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
